Professional Proofreading for Authors, Publishers, Christian Businesses, and Ministries

While court reporter proofreading is my primary specialty, I also enjoy partnering with authors, publishing houses, Christian businesses, and ministries to help ensure their written communication is polished, professional, and error-free.

Whether you’re preparing a manuscript for publication, sending an email newsletter, or updating your website, I provide careful proofreading that allows your readers to focus on your message—not distracting mistakes.

Proofreading for Authors

Writing a book is a significant accomplishment, and before it’s published, it deserves one final careful review.

I proofread:

  • Christian living books
  • Nonfiction manuscripts
  • Self-help books
  • Memoirs
  • Devotionals
  • Bible studies
  • Clean fiction

Proofreading is the final stage before publication. I’ll carefully review your manuscript for:

  • Spelling
  • Grammar
  • Punctuation
  • Typos
  • Formatting inconsistencies
  • Missing or repeated words
  • Basic consistency issues

My goal is to polish your manuscript while preserving your unique voice.

FAQs

What’s the difference between proofreading and editing?

Proofreading is the final review before publication. It focuses on correcting grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, and other small errors. It does not involve rewriting or restructuring your content.

What file types do you accept?

I proofread Microsoft Word documents using Track Changes and PDFs with markups.

Do you proofread AI-generated content?

No. If your writing has been written by AI, I will not accept the project.

How long does proofreading take?

Turnaround depends on the length of your project and my current schedule. When you send me your document, I will look over it and give you an estimated time. If you have a deadline, please let me know upfront.

What type of payments do you accept?

I invoice using Wave, which accepts all major credit cards. I can also accept PayPal.

What should I do while I wait for you to proofread my manuscript?

Good question! If you’re planning to publish traditionally, now is a good time to find and reach out to agents and create a list of publishing houses. If you plan to self-publish, get your author platform up and running, create your marketing plan, and research self-publishing options and how-tos. Check out my blog articles for more information on marketing and promotion.

I have a different question. How can I contact you?

You can reach me by filling out the form on my contact page or by emailing me at diligentanalyzer@michellemillerproofreading.com. I’ll be in touch within two business days. Check your spam folder in case I’m hiding in there.
