Why I Started Michelle Miller Proofreading

For years, I was a general proofreader, proofreading mainly nonfiction books for Christian leaders and authors. Occasionally, I still proofread for these clients because I enjoy helping people and paying attention to the small details that others often miss.

Proofreading combines many of the things I love most: careful reading, strong spelling and grammar skills, and the satisfaction of returning accurate work on time. I understand how important accuracy is in legal transcripts, and I take pride in providing dependable proofreading services that court reporters can trust.

However, I discovered PDF proofreading when things started slowing down in the general proofreading world. I took a course with The Proofreading Business Coach and fell in love with transcript proofreading!

A Little About Me

When I’m not proofreading, you’ll probably find me enjoying a good mystery or true crime book, listening to a Dateline podcast, shopping with my daughter, antiquing with my mom, or working on a crochet project.

I enjoy the quiet focus that both reading and crocheting require, and those same qualities–patience, attention to detail, and concentration—carry over into my proofreading work every day.

I played the flute for seven years, from elementary school to high school. I was in marching band and concert band, and dreamed of playing for orchestras and cartoons one day.

Recently, I was able to meet one of my favorite 80s singers in person–Boy George!
